  • Free accommodation at [la fabrique francophone].
  • Travel expenses covered (from 350€ to 700€ depending on distance and mode of transportation chosen).

Submit your application by sending the following documents to residence@lafabriquefrancophone.fr:

  • A presentation of your artistic experience in the field of literary creation and of your career path as well as the works you have created or actively collaborated on (to have been published is not a prerequisite for application).
  • A statement of intent for your project, explaining your approach and your artistic and technical requirements.

In your email, please answer the following questions:

  • How can taking part in a residency with a European dimension be beneficial and enrich your artistic project?

This open call will select two artists/authors living in the countries of Creative Europe * (excepting France).

Preference will be given to applications from artists developing projects in pairs or two distinct projects that forge links/resonances.

The language of creation may be French, but this is not a requirement. The project may combine several languages, including regional languages.

Closing date for applications is September 15th, 2024.

Incomplete submissions won’t be considered.

Location

[la fabrique francophone] is located in the historic center of Cahors, a small medieval town in southwestern France. On the banks of the River Lot and facing wooded hills, it houses workspaces, a studio dedicated to the digital arts, and a spacious, convivial apartment that can accommodate two artists simultaneously. Residents benefit from comfortable accommodation and several creative spaces within the same building.

Mentoring

[la fabrique francophone]’s on-site team will offer residents artistic, technical and administrative support, tailored to their specific needs.

  • Technical support: Pidj, sound producer and musician, will support the artists in their sound creation. Depending on the technical level of the residents, he will initiate or deepen their knowledge and understanding of digital tools (equipment, software, etc.) and the possibilities they offer for artistic creation.
  • Writing and dramaturgy: director Cédric Brossard will follow the creative process and provide artistic advice.
  • Administrative support: Julia Hill Smith, production manager, will be on hand to listen to residents’ needs.
